Performance Studies for Majors
All music majors are expected to participate in the performance of music. To this end, the Performance Studies Fee is waived when a student who has declared the music major has completed one core course toward the major from the music curriculum (Music 101, 102, 115, 125, 126) and is enrolled in a second core course.

  • Music majors with a performance emphasis must enroll in one-hour lessons per semester; the Performance Studies Fee for one-hour lessons is waived when the conditions outlined above are met.
  • Music majors with a history, theory or composition emphasis may enroll in either one-half or one-hour lessons (as advised by their Performance Studies Instructor) per semester; the Performance Studies Fee for one-half hour lessons only is waived when the conditions outlined above are met.

The fee waiver holds as long as the student remains enrolled in the major in good standing.
