In addition to the academic requirements, music majors should expect the following of their relationship with the Music Department:

• Music majors in all emphases should expect to receive a syllabus for each music course taken for credit, and the syllabus must outline course expectations, attendance policy, and grading procedures.
• All majors are expected to belong to and participate actively in the Dickinson College Music Society.
• All majors are also required to participate in a Departmental Ensemble, and to attend at least 5 concerts per semester on the Music at Dickinson calendar (in addition to those in which the student participates). Students must present programs of these concerts to their advisers, who are responsible for seeing that their advisees fulfill this requirement.
