Are only music majors allowed to play and sing in the Music Department ensembles?

Participation in the Dickinson Orchestra, Choir, Collegium, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble and Chamber Ensembles are open to all Dickinson students by audition. Auditions for these ensembles are held during Music Audition Night, the first Tuesday of every academic year.

Is there an opportunity for musical theatre at Dickinson College?

Yes. During alternate years, the Music Department collaborates with the Department of Theatre and Dance on a joint musical production. The next show will be scheduled for the 2008-09 academic year. In addition, an Opera Workshop scenes concert is possible through the Music Department Chamber Music program.
