Devils Show Well at Blue Jay Invitational
October 28, 2006

(Elizabethtown, PA) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team turned in some top-notch performances at the 2006 Blue Jay Fall Men's Invitational. Senior Eric Schroeder (Acton, MA/Governor Dummer Academy) went 5-0 to win the Flight C Singles tournament. He defeated Lebanon Valley's Matt Grodzinski 6-0, 6-4 in the final.

Schroeder joined Jackson Parmenter (Durham, CT/Xavier) to capture the doubles title with a 4-0 run. They topped the team from LVC, 8-3 in the final. First-year Hunter Holbrook (New York, NY/Trevor Day School) advanced to the finals of the A Flight Singles before falling to Eric Vargo, also from LVC, (6-1, 6-1).

First-year Matt Wood (Chatham, NY/Chatham) dropped a semi-final match in Flight C singles to Grodzinski while classmate Andrew Kastner (Seattle, WA) advanced to the semifinals of the B Flight before falling to eventual champion Brok Walker of Elizabethtown.

Devils Fall in Centennial Conference Semifinal
April 29, 2006

(Carlisle, PA) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team earned the doubles point, but fell 6-1 to Washington College in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference Championship Tournament on Saturday.

Jackson Parmenter (Durham, CT/Xavier) and Eric Schroeder (Acton, MA/Gov. Dummer Academy) captured the second doubles flight 8-6 while senior Rob Isaacs (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) and junior Brent Shoemaker (Marion, MA/Old Rochester Regional) claimed an 8-5 decision at number three.

The 14th-ranked Shoremen swept the singles matches to advance to Sunday's final. They will face Johns Hopkins, who defeated Haverford College 4-3 in the other semifinal.

The Red Devils conclude the season with a 14-6 overall record.

Red Devils Down Diplomats to Secure Playoff Bid
April 26, 2006

(Carlisle, PA) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team defeated Franklin & Marshall College 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon. The Red Devils earn the final playoff spot in the first-ever Centennial Conference team championship.

Dickinson earned the doubles point with wins in the second and third flights. Whit McFarlane (U.S. Virgin Islands) and Rich Rosenthal (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) cruised to an 8-1 win in the number two spot while senior Rob Isaacs (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) and junior Brent Shoemaker (Marion, MA/Old Rochester Regional) captured an 8-6 decision at number three.

The Diplomats captured the top two singles flight before the Devils swept the final four flights and the match. Rosenthal and Shoemaker posted singles wins in the four and six positions, respectively, while first-year Trevor Heck (Pittsburgh, PA/Sewickley Academy) and junior Eric Schroeder (Acton, MA/Gov. Dummer Academy) captured the third and fifth flights.

The Red Devils (14-5, 5-3) will travel to Washington College this weekend to face the top-seeded Shoremen in the Centennial Conference Semifinals.

Blue Jays Top Devils in Men's Tennis
April 22, 2006

(Carlisle, PA) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 Centennial Conference match to visiting Johns Hopkins on Saturday. The Blue Jays captured all nine flights to improve to 8-6 overall and 4-2 in the CC. The Red Devils slip to 13-5 and 4-3 in the conference.

The Red Devils played well and battled in the singles matches. Rich Rosenthal (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) went three sets with Kevin Ma, falling 6-3, 3-6, 10-5. Eric Shroeder (Acton, MA/Gov. Dummer Academy) suffered a 6-3, 6-4 set-back at number five singles and teamed with Jackson Parmenter (Durham, CT/Xavier) in a close 8-5 defeat at number two doubles.

The Red Devils travel to Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday for a 4:00 pm start.

Red Devils Blank McDaniel for Seventh Sweep
April 12, 2006

(Westminster, MD) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team won all nine courts to post a 7-0 Centennial Conference win over McDaniel on Wednesday. The Green Terror battled at number one doubles and singles, but fell in straight sets in the remaining singles flights.

Eric Schroeder (Acton, MA/Gov. Dummer Academy) and Brent Shoemaker (Marion, MA/Old Rochester Regional) posted identical 6-0, 6-1 victories at number five and number six singles. Rich Rosenthal (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) was a 6-2, 6-2 winner in the third singles flight.

The Red Devils improve to 12-4 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial Conference. They return to action on April 18th, traveling to Gettysburg College for a 3:30 match against the Bullets.

Red Devils Tame Bobcats 7-0
April 9, 2006

(Chestertown, MD) - The Washington College men's tennis team, ranked 20th in Division III and ninth in the Atlantic South region, defeated visiting Dickinson, 7-0, in a Centennial Conference match this afternoon at Schottland Tennis Center.

The Shoremen, who won their ninth straight match, improved to 12-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play with the win, while the Red Devils fell to 11-4 and 2-2 with the loss.

Whit McFarlane (U.S. Virgin Islands) turned in a strong performance at number four singles, falling 7-5, 6-3.

The Red Devils slip to 11-4 overall and 2-2 in the CC. The Devlis return to action on Wednesday, traveling to McDaniel College on Wednesday.

Red Devils Post Sixth Shutout

(Carlisle, PA)- The Dickinson College men's tennis team improved to 11-3 on the season, posting a 7-0 win over Susquehanna. The win marked the sixth shutout of the season for the Red Devils.

Senior Rob Isaacs (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) won a tight match at number one singles (7-6(5), 7-5) as the Red Devils swept the singles matches in straight sets. The Devils won all nine courts, taking all three doubles matches as well.

Trevor Heck (Pittsburgh, PA/Sewickley Academy) and Whit McFarlane (U.S. Virgin Islands) won at number two and number four singles, respectively, by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.

The Red Devils return to action on Sunday, traveling to Washington College for a 1:00 pm match.

(Carlisle, Pa) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team blanked visiting Frostburg State University 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Red Devils won all nine courts and swept the singles matches in straight sets to improve to 10-3 on the season.

Rob Isaacs (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) captured the number one singles match 6-4, 6-1 and joined Toni Bujas (Zagreb, Croatia/Western Reserve Academy) for an 8-2 win in doubles. Rich Rosenthal (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and Andy Carroll (Dover, DE/St. Andrew's) posted a 9-7 win at number two doubles and claimed the number three and four singles matches, respectively.

Jackson Parmenter (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and Eric Schroeder (Acton, MA/Gov. Dummer Academy) rolled to an 8-2 win at number one doubles while Parmenter also won the point at number five singles. First-year Trevor Heck (Pittsburgh, PA/Sewickley Academy) and Brent Shoemaker (Marion, MA/Old Rochester Regional) were singles winners at number two and number six, respectively.

Red Devils Improve to 9-3 With 6-1 Victory

(Carlisle, Pa) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team posted a 6-1 decision over Catholic University on Sunday afternoon. The Red Devils won seven courts to improve to 9-3 on the season.

Whit McFarlane (U.S. Virgin Islands) led the way with a pair of wins, taking number four singles in three sets, (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 [7-4]), and also teamed with Toni Bujas (Zagreb, Croatia/Western Reserve Academy) for and 8-6 win at second doubles.

First-year Trevor Heck (Pittsburgh, PA/Sewickley Academy) played a strong match at number two singles, claiming a 6-1, 7-5 victory.

(Carlisle, Pa) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team swept a Centennial Conference match against Ursinus College on Saturday afternoon. For the second straight match the Red Devils won all nine courts for a 7-0 victory, and improve to 8-3 on the season and 2-1 in the CC.

Senior Rob Isaacs (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) battled to a three-set victory at number one singles and joined sophomore Brent Shoemaker (Marion, MA/Old Rochester Regional) for an 8-0 win at third doubles. Shoemaker posted a 6-1, 6-1 win in the number six singles spot.

Rich Rosenthal (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) claimed a 6-1, 6-1 decision at number three singles while Andy Carroll (Dover, DE/St. Andrew’s) won at number five 6-0, 6-0. Jackson Parmenter (Durham, CT/Xavier) and Eric Schroeder (Acton, MA/Gov. Dummer Academy) claimed number one doubles 8-4.

(Carlisle, Pa) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team swept a non-conference match from Elizabethtown on Thursday afternoon. The Red Devils won all nine courts for a 7-0 victory to improve to 7-3 on the season.

Senior Rob Isaacs (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) won a strong match at number one singles (7-5, 6-3), and joined sophomore Toni Bujas (Zagreb, Croatia/Western Reserve Academy) for an 8-3 win at third doubles.

Red Devils Back on Track With 6-1 Win

(Allentown, Pa) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team returned to winning form with a 6-1 Centennial Conference win on Wednesday night. The Red Devil men swept the doubles matches and claimed all but the number one singles positions in straight sets.

Sophomore Whit McFarlane (U.S. Virgin Islands) played a great match at number two, posting a 6-1, 6-3 win over Adam Nodiff. First-year Trevor Heck (Pittsburgh, PA/Sewickley) won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 at number three.

The Red Devils improve to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference. They return home to face Elizabethtown on Thursday at 3:30 pm. Muhlenberg drops to 1-4 and 0-2 in the CC.

'Fords Sweep Devils in Centennial Opener
March 25, 2006

(Carlisle, Pa) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 set-back to Haverford College in its Centennial Conference opener on Saturday. The 'Fords swept the singles matches and claimed the doubles point with wins at the number one and two spots.

Senior Rob Isaacs (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) played well for the Red Devils, falling in the top singles position 6-3, 7-5. He joined Brent Shoemaker (Marion, MA/Old Rochester Regional) to capture third doubles 9-7.

Eric Schroeder (Acton, MA/Governor Dummer Academy) and Jackson Parmenter (Durham, CT/Xavier) also played well at number one doubles, but fell 8-5.

The Red Devils (5-3, 0-1) travel to Muhlenberg College on Wednesday to face the Mules at 3:30. They return home on Thursday to host Elizabethtown at 3:30 as well.

(Hilton Head, SC) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team dropped its first spring break match to Georgetown (KY) 8-1, but responded with five straight wins to improve to 5-1 on the season. The Devils dropped a tight match to Methodist College 4-3 to return home 5-2 overall.

Devils Capture Four Flights at Blue Jay Fall Invite

(Elizabethtown, PA) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team turned in a strong showing at the Elizabethtown Fall Invitational on October 29th and 30th. Senior Rob Issacs (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Seminary) won the Flight B Final, defeating teammate Whit McFarlane (U.S. Virgin Islands) 4-6, 6-4, 11-9. Two Red Devils met in the Flight C Final as well with Andy Carroll (Dover, DE/St. Andrew's) posting a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Brent Shoemaker (Marion, MA).

Rob Dickinson (Richmond, VA/Trinity Episcopal) advanced to the final of Flight A before falling to Wilkes' Kyle Ungvarsky 6-4, 4-6, 12-10.

In doubles, Flight A featured an all-Dickinson final as Jackson Parmenter (Durham, CT/Xavier) and Eric Schroeder (Acton, MA/Gov. Dummer Academy) defeated Toni Bujas (Zagreb, Croatia/Western Reserve Academy) and Isaacs 8-5. Rich Rosenthal (Basking Ridge, NJ) and Carroll captured the Flight B Final with an 8-4 decision over Elizabethtown's Joe Santoro and Zachary Atkinson.
