The department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting at NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies offers courses in twenty-six foreign languages. Our students are NY City professionals who wish to polish their language skills or acquire new ones. The department and its faculty are committed to the highest standards of foreign language instruction. Director of Blume Language and Culture Learning Center
Trinity College seeks to hire a Director for its Blume Language and Culture Learning Center to start on July 1, 2008. Initial three-year appointment, renewable annually afterwards. Required qualifications: M.A. or Ph.D. in educational technology, instructional design, second language acquisition, foreign language pedagogy, linguistics, or a related field. Required are a thorough understanding of foreign language educational technology and a demonstrated ability to connect language learning to other disciplines. Prior experience in supervising a foreign language learning center is preferred. The successful candidate will be able to teach one of the nine foreign languages offered through the Department of Language and Culture Studies.

#510  The Department of Romance Languages at the University of Vermont will be offering a Graduate Teaching Assistantship for the next academic year (08-09) to a student who wants to achieve a Master of Arts in French.  The stipend is approximately $15,000, plus a tuition scholarship for up to ten credit hours per semester.

The responsibilities involve teaching one section of first-year college French, fall and spring semester, four days a week.  While the fellowships are given for one year at a time, they are frequently continued for a second year so that the student can complete the work for the M.A.  Candidates should apply to the Graduate College ( http://www.uvm.edu/~gradcoll ) by February 15, 2008.
