Current Events for Spring Semester, 1998-
- It is much to my chagrin to report that the Penn Zeta chapter of Dickinson College has lost its house here at the school. For approximately 7 years, we have been in posession of the Media House, shown below under a link, and for reasons not understood or agreed with by us, the housing board has decided to locate us elsewhere on campus. Alumni help is greatly needed at this time, and we ask all alumni to show their support of the fraternity that gave them such great memories and experiences during college. Our new location on campus will unfortunately not fit all of our rising Junior class, which has traditionally lived in the house each year. This comes as a major upset to all of us, due to the fact that not only will the Juniors miss out on such an experience, but they will not even be able to live together. We are all afraid for the future of Phi Kappa Psi here at Dickinson College, not only due to the fact that there is an increasingly smaller Greek system here each year, but also because our ability to enjoy the benefits of brotherhood and attract new members has been greatly diminished by the seemingly uncaring housing board who is more concerned with numbers, both physical as well as financial, than our ability to act as the organization we are intended to be. That is, one Phi Kappa Psi based upon the premise of growing as men in an environment such as the Media House, an environment where we can not only all live together, but as a continuous testament to the beneficial aspects of fraternity life and its affects upon shaping and forming young men into mature adult leaders.
